Happy Labor Night

I hope everyone had a good weekend.
I had a good weekend.
I got some much needed sleep.
I got to hangout with my family.
The Cubs lost all weekend. Lets just hope for more wins and more Brewer losses.
I wanna continue the Cedar Point memory deal, but it's kind of late. Soon it will come.
I'm looking forward to visiting Cedar Point again next month.
The Office Season 4 comes out on DVD tomorrow. SWEET!
Well, I'm out.
Later.

Bye bye beautiful.

Cedar Point Memories

So I've decided that I'm gonna start posting some memories from my experiences working at Cedar Point in '03 and '04. I will have like the "CP memory of the week" or something. Some will be fun, others funny, some maybe sad, some probably stupid, and at least one memory from that time probably makes me wanna pull my hair out and scream! Well, maybe I won't talk about that one, because it's a sore memory that a lot of people don't want to hear again(lets just say that one specific memory I'm thinking about doesn't really have to do all with Cedar Point. It really has nothing to do with Cedar Point. It's just that I was in my CP dorm room at the time. Lets just say I was still employed at CP on Oct. 14, 2003. Confused? Look it up.) So here starts the first big memory of 2003 and it is pretty big!(but it's not Big Bash)

This memory or event rather, happened two months prior to my for mentioned unspoken memory. The date was August 14, 2004.(Figured it out yet?) Lets just say it was a pretty hot and humid day. Wait... lets back things up a bit. You might be wondering what I did when I worked there. Well... when I worked at Cedar Point I was a sweep and I also did a little bit of other stuff. "Why a sweep?" you ask. Well... I'll explain another time. Anyway, back to this memory...
So it was a very hot and humid Thursday afternoon and I out sweeping just outside of the park, (if you are familiar with Cedar Point, I'm talking about the area between the parking lot and the main gate turnstiles.) I was just walking around doing nothing really. After awhile of just walking around and people watching, I began to notice that it was pretty quiet. Cedar Point has music playing all over the park, but the music they play in the front is louder than all the stuff in the park. I guess I really never thought about it, but after a few minutes, a lady came up to me and asked, "When are the rides gonna re-open?" I kind of had this look like, "What the heck are you talking about?" I then turned and looked into the park and I didn't believe what I saw. First thing I saw was the Sky Ride sitting there and not moving. I thought,"Ok, the Sky Ride has stopped. That normally happens." I look over to the Raptor, stopped on the brake run. I look back at Magnum, stopped on the hill. I look at the Space Spiral, stopped just about 40 feet from the platform. I then think to myself, "What the heck is going on here?" I turn the lady and say, "I'm sorry mam, but I have no idea what's going on, but I'm gonna find out."

So I ran back into the park to try to find one of my supervisors or team members. I couldn't find anyone at first, so I just came to the conclusion that the Cedar Point lost it's power. I had no idea that it was bigger than that. ...What am I talking about? The Northeast Blackout of 2003.
... It was probably the weirdest thing walking through a crowded amusement park with no power. The only sound was the blend of all voices from guests in the park. The only other background noise, was just the feet of all the people walking. I was still walking around the park trying to find some other employees that I worked with. I walked through the thick crowds of people and listened to what they had to say. Most of the guests were getting mad at Cedar Point and I mean, really ticked off at Cedar Point. Others wondered if it was just the Sandusky area, while others talked about how it could actually be much bigger and maybe all of the US. I still needed to know what the deal was, so I could explain to the guests what was going on.

I eventually found another team member talking with our supervisor. I went up and asked them what's up. Standing there, I remember my supervisor with a very serious face(not really a serious guy) stood there and said,
"Jeremy, have you been informed about what's going on?"
I told him I had no idea and that I really wanted to know whats up.
He said, "This thing is bigger than just Cedar Point and Sandusky. The power is out all the way to New York!"
I'm like, "No way!?"
He then goes on to say, "We aren't totally sure yet, but there is a big chance that this whole thing is related to a possible act of terrorism. I want you keep it on the down low for now. But tell other employees when you see them."
I thought he was joking at first, but he was seriously telling me what he has heard from the upper management. At that time all kinds of thoughts started going through my head. "Was this true? Are we in the early stages of a terrorist attack? What's gonna happen in the next 24 hours? I'm in Ohio and my family is in Indiana. Am I gonna see them again? I've gotta call them!" My brother was one of the supervisors for his department and he was also working that day. I had to find him, for I knew he had a cell phone for calling home.(I didn't own one back then)

To be continued...

Man, I never really plan on telling long stories. All I was gonna say, was that I worked there during that major power outage. I just decided to make a story of it. I hope it is interesting. So enjoy. But yeah, I guess I'll finish tomorrow or something. Hmm...why does this story make me think of the beginning of another similar, but fake, story entitled The Cedar Point Zombies of Chaos? Haha... good times.

Ok then, I'm out. I need a roommate! The quest continues!

Go Cubs!

Mr. 100? More like Mr. False!

So under the blog entitled Mr. 100 I stated that it was my 100th post. I thought it was my 100th post, due to the fact that when I selected "new post", it said that I had 99 posts. But after looking over the "Take a Trip to the Past" on the right side of the blog, the number of posts from the three years added up to 102. So that would make I'm Here my 100th post and Mr. 100 being the 101.

I apologize for all the misleading information. I am a disgrace to the blogging community.

Back to the Point! (cue, "The Power of Love")

So recently I have received an e-mail from Cedar Point, saying that I've been invited to attend a Back to the Point Employee Reunion. The event is held during the last weekend of the month (Labor Day weekend) and I guess it's a pretty big deal. They are having admission discounts, hotel discounts, a cookout, entertainment, and ERT(extended ride time after the park closes) all for past employees and their guests. Hmm, this event has been planned for awhile and it's kind of weird that I just now got the information about it.

I still wasn't sure if it was some form of e-mail spam sent to all ex-employees, so I decided to do a little research. I came across this web site and found this. Reading both the article and the e-mail made me start to think about all the memories of working at Cedar Point for two summers. They had all kind of stuff for employees, such as parties, employee ride nights, cookouts, movie nights, trips and other fun stuff. Sitting here, I kind of miss working there. Yeah, I guess I could share some of my fondest memories another time.

Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to attend, for I have plans on going there in October with Nate, Jolyn, Austin, and Kayla. However, if for some reason I do go, it will be on the Sunday, but still very unlikely.

I'm not sure why I used this as a blog post, but oh well, it works.

Mr. 100

This is my 100th post!

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

I'm Here.

I'm kind of letting this blogging thing slip away on me, but don't worry, I assure you that I'll try to keep with it. There has been a lot of amazing stuff that has happened over the past few weeks or so, but i'll touch on those another time.

I took Ryan and Kayla down to Fort Wayne this past weekend. We all had a fun time hanging out with Nate, Jolyn, and baby Austin. We got to see a couple of funny movies, watch Phelps make history, and just enjoy some Wii time. It was a pretty good weekend and lets just say.... I laughed a lot. Good times.

My good friend Ben Russel is in Egypt this week, so it's pretty boring without him around playing Rock Band, watching Family Guy, and eating at T-Bell. I hope he is having a good time.

I'm watching the Cubs game right now. They have just been awesome lately. It's been a great season and I hope to see them go deep in the playoffs and when I say "deep" I mean, win the World Series. I've brought this topic up before, but it's just I feel... well, it's just how all Cubs fans feel. So I guess we'll see what happens.

Well, I guess I'm done for now. More to come as I try to post a blog within the next few days or so.

Bye Bye Beautiful

My Top Three Summer Movies

Why So Serious?

I haven't posted much lately so I thought I would give you my thoughts on this movie.

It was simply amazing! It's probably one of my favorite movies, ever. To be honost with you, I wasn't the biggest fan of Batman Begins. I'm not saying I hated it, I liked it yes, but I just wasn't into it. I think what really made this movie awesome, was Heath Ledger's brilliant performance as The Joker. Christian Bale as Batman is good too. So is Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face, but when all is said and done, it is Ledger that steals the show. I'm almost afraid that I won't enjoy the next Batman movie, just because of no Joker, or at least no Heath Ledger as a Joker. So yes...The Dark Knight = Awesome!!

CRUSHED!

Gas Kills Eating Out with Friends

If anyone knows me, they know that I love eating out with my friends. Hacienda, Applebees, Wings Etc. ...Etc. I just enjoy sitting there having conversations and eating delicious food. I'm not saying I always go out to eat while hanging out with friends, but I at least like to do it at least once. Well, I guess gas has really been destroying that lately. Hacienda turns into Taco Bell. Applebees turns into Burger King and Wings Etc. turns into KFC. It's not that its a bad thing, but still it's nice to just get out of town once and awhile.

Thanks gas prices, for killing such a good time.

I'm done venting now.

The New Favorite

I'll admit it right now, I wasn't the biggest fan of the show Seinfeld when the series was still running. I remember watching a few episodes and maybe because I was young, I just didn't get it. I'm not saying I hated it, but it just wasn't my thing. Back in the day, it seems like the only shows I watched were, Boy Meets World, The Simpsons, Doug, Fresh Prince, Family Matters, and Full House. I was a kid and that's what most kids watched.

I think I actually got into Seinfeld during the final episode, but then again, everything on TV can seem pretty cool when you are watching it with Ghoti Hook and Value Pac. (True Story) But as the years went by and reruns seem to be showing on like every channel two times a day, I thought I would give it a try, so I started watching a few episodes here and there. I began to laugh... a lot. It was funny TV. These characters are all one of kind. It still wasn't my favorite thing to watch on TV, far from it, but it was something that I enjoyed watching time to time.

Four years later, I move out of my parents house and into an apartment with two crazy guys. I'll say this right now, I probably stood out from these guys the most, because I wasn't digging most of the stuff they watched on TV. There were some times when I though I did, but I didn't, but when there was stuff on that we all enjoyed, it made the experience even better. Of the few shows we watched, Seinfeld seem to stick out the most, because it was something I was still getting into and at the same time, a show that was Twan's favorite. He even collected the seasons on DVD and we would watch them and we would laugh. My likeness for show grew during that year.

Now a few years later, my like turned more into a love. I began watching any episode that I could watch on TV. When company is over, we'll watch it. When I get off work, I'll flip it to TBS and watch two episodes. Even if the same episode was playing two different days on different channels, it was okay. Seinfeld is one of those re-run shows, that you can watch the same episode like, three times and just like it more and more. It's just that good. Now I can't say that I've seen every episode or that I have a favorite, but I can say this, Seinfeld is my favorite cancelled or re-run show. Period.

The Best In MLB

I'm watching the Cubs game.
The Cubs currently hold the best record in baseball in 2008.
The last time they had the best record entering June, was 100 years ago.
The last time the Cubs won the World Series, was 100 years ago.

So lets take a look at this...

June 1908 - Best record in baseball
October 1908 -World Series Champs

June 2008 - Best record in baseball
October 2008 - World Series Champs?

Could this be the year? I'm feeling it! Yeah, things can happen and turn around fast, but I've had this feeling about the Cubs way back before the season started.
Is anybody else in the same boat with me?

Go Cubs Go!

WAKE UP!

Waking up early is not my thing.
Next week I have to wake up at like 5AM each day, well at least 6 out of the 7.
I'm not happy about it, but then again it beats other things.

Off subject... somethings or some people really annoy me.

That's all I have to say.

Planning

So I am planning my 4th Annual two day Cedar Point camping trip. This year's trip will be June 17-18. I am very excited about this trip for a few reasons.

  • I love Cedar Point and I love roller coasters and rides(10 years ago, you would probably be like, "yeah, whatever!")
  • It's a couple of days to just get away from stuff and just relax and have fun. It won't top the cruise vacation, but it will be nice to just get away on a more personal and private level, even if my cousin is coming along.
  • Which brings to last point, it's a time to just hangout with my cousin or whoever happens to go. In the past it's been anywhere from my brother and his wife to friends to my cousin. Last year it was Ryan and it will be him again this year. (though I'm looking for 1 or 2 others to go along because it might help with the gas money)

So yeah...yay...Cedar Point!

Oh and 2009 might be my return to a certain music festival in Bushnell, IL. I'm talking about a place called Cornerstone.

Sunday, May 25, 2008

And so I made it...

Woke up at 7AM and went to the early service.

IT ROCKED!!

This guy is pretty much the man. A man that God uses in amazing ways. I don't get to talk to this guy very often, but if for some reason he comes across my blog, I want him to hear this...

"Thank you! Thank you for "bringing it" this morning. Thanks for "bringing it" each Wednesday night. Thank you for what you've brought back when I was in High School and Middle School. Thanks for talking with and understanding me. Thanks for everything. Thanks for just being an awesome man of God.

But more importantly above you, I thank God for creating and building these awesome characters - these awesome pastors and youth pastors who have invested so much to serving the Lord.

I thank you God for always being there and for always teaching me. I thank you for your love and for the love you spread in others. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

I'm feeling happy.

A place I haven't seen in two months...

Yeah, so with the schedule that I've had, I'm a little embarrassed to say this, but it's been about two months since I've been to a Sunday morning service, Easter Sunday to be exact. Yeah, back when I was working night shifts, I had to work every Saturday night. So the hours are 10PM on Sat night to 6AM Sunday morning. When I first started working like that, I would just stay up and go to early service. Well after a month of that, I wanted to go to at least one Connection Service a month, so I decided I would just stay up and go to the Connection service and have all afternoon to sleep. I'll admit, some Sundays in both the 1st and 3rd service I would find myself falling asleep. It was very tiring. The weird thing is, every other day, I would have trouble falling asleep and then end up with about 4 or 5 hours each day. I couldn't adjust to sleeping during the day. I think that Sunday being at the end of a long week with not that much sleep, my body just wanted to shut down and I think that sitting in a service in a gym with dim lights and not seeing that it is day or night, made my body more tired. So I tried sleeping from like 6:30 to 10, hoping that a little bit of sleep before church would help. That worked for a few weeks and eventually just turned into me not wanting to wake up and just hitting my alarm clock and sleep until like 3 in the afternoon.

There were a lot of reasons why I wanted to quit and this was one big reason. Yes, it's been more than a few weeks since I've quit the night shift, but vacations, being scheduled to work early on a Sunday, and a broke vehicle all stood in the way. So things just need to get back to normal...and they will.

So tomorrow, or today, or like later this morning, I'm gonna make it to one of the services. So yeah, I'm pretty excited about it. So maybe I should go to bed...yeah...I should! So...
Nighty Night!

Some Thoughts About Today

So I was sitting here and I was thinking about blogging and stuff. So I pulled up this site and I guess it's time for me to post some thoughts. To throw it out right away, today was pretty sweet.

8AM - Woke Up and ate a handful of Apple Jacks and Dr. Pepper.
9AM - Went to work(nice to work during the day again...just so you know, I'm back to working during the day now and not working 3rd shift anymore.)
11:45AM - Ate lunch at Mc. Donalds because they had free chicken sandwiches if you purchase a medium or large soft drink. So one large Dr. Pepper and a $2.79 sandwich cost $1. It was very satisfying.
5:30PM - I got off work and headed over to Mc. Donalds again for some free food. This time purchasing a small fry with my large Dr. Pepper and free chicken sandwich. So in total on two trips to Mc. Donalds I paid $3 plus tax and had two large pops, two sandwiches and a small fry. A sweet deal? Uh...YES!
6:30PM - Ben and Tristan came over and we played some Wii and stuff. We played a few hours of Super Smash.
9PM - Watched the season finale of The Office. It was pretty funny and threw in a lot of stuff that is gonna keep me waiting until next season. Was I satisfied with season 4 of Office? Yes, even with the writer strike and everything. It was still a pretty funny season. I can't wait until season 5.
10PM - We were still hungry so we ate at T-Bell. Very nice!
Sometime after 10:30PM - They played Rock Band while I was on facebook or something.
11PM - Played some Mario Kart Wii - VERY FUN!
12AM, Friday May 16th - Super Mario Bros. OLDSCHOOL!
12:30AM - Blogging.

So yeah, I say today, but I guess it was really yesterday, but it's late now. Well, the date on this will say earlier because I actually started this and then went back to play and then now back to this and it's a new day. I don't know. The point is, Thursday May 15th was a fun day. The end.

Looking ahead...
-My car needs fixed
-Need a lot of money for car
-Then need a lot of money for gas so I can get to Cedar Point sometime soon.
-Uh...I don't know.

So yep. Yay. Gone.

Stupid Car

I drive car.
Car is my second car.
Car is a '97 Nissan Sentra.
I've owned car for 3 years.
Car has never really had any major problems.
Now 3 years later, car needs a lot of repair.
Why does car have to have so many problems at once?
Does car think I am full of money?
Stupid Car.

I drive go-kart.
Go-kart is actually, Mario Kart Wii.
I've owned Mario Kart Wii for about 3 hours.
Not stupid - Mario Kart Wii.

Dinner Party

So I'm searching for a roommate(s) to live with. Oh do I miss the days when I had them. A few good reasons why.

  • There was always someone there. I'm not someone who loves to be alone all the time. I like the company of others and just hanging out. Roommates provided that. 92% of the time, they are home and the the other 8% provided me with the right amount of time to just be alone and have a personal time. It was great. What I loved about my roommates in Wakarusa, was that they were like me...well, not all interests in shows or sports teams was there, but us three will just some pretty crazy guys. It was fun and I really missed it.

  • With roommates, the cost of rent, internet, cable, and any other utilities is divided three ways. It was nice to just have the extra money at the end of the month. Now I'm paying almost $300 more than what I was paying before, so I guess you can see where having some extra guys or at least one extra, would help out.

  • It just adds more stuff to stuff. I mean, more roommates means more DVD's, CD's, video game systems, TV's, etc. Though this really isn't as important as the first two, it's fun when you have more stuff to share. Sometimes they like it as well, for if it wasn't for me some wouldn't have played through Resident Evil 4 or have a PS2 for Final Fantasy or randomly watch the movie, Mean Girls. What's mine is yours and whats yours is still not mine, but there.

  • If you lock yourself out, there is still others that can help you. (I tend to do this a lot and I've lost my spare key and I'm sure the manager is annoyed when I need help back in on a Saturday or Sunday morning)

I guess I could go on and on, but the point is, a roommate would just be awesome right now. The end.

Nerf Guns Continued

Hmm... it's pretty weird, because I have more to say about Nerf Guns now, then what I was gonna say. I mean, I stumbled upon more situations when such called object(s) was about.

Yesterday was crazy...there were plans but then things got turned around and it just ended up with Ben Russel and I making a voyage up to a far distant land to the northwest. I'm talking about a place called Bethel. Bethel College indeed! We were bored, so that's where we went to hangout and do stuff with our good friend Richard Rensburger. Where we then dove into food(I didn't eat), then back for Halo(I didn't really play. I feel asleep) and nerf guns.

Ok, I guess there really isn't much about nerf guns. I mean, it's pretty obvious if you go to a school like Bethel, there is gonna be nerf guns and food and video games. It was just weird for me, because Ben and I were actually shooting these guns at pictures of zombies and such, until a mini-war broke out between both of us, which led to a Reservoir Dogs-esque ending. It was these times I was reminded of another much bigger, but small war in the apartment 9 of Wakarusa, between Team Richard and I and army of one, the one and only Jeff Simpson. Though, I do believe that ended in total defeat as Richard and I, armed with one pistol each, just couldn't handle the fire power, and rapid fire, and a nerf rocket launcher, of the Simpson arsenal. It was a sad day.

So back to the Bethel...yes, there were some new weapons of the nerf. Some weren't even made by nerf, but still stacked up. So at 11PM, I sat there and played Zelda on the DS as Richard and Ben were engaged in another form of battle, Halo. It was around this time when a mini-nerf war broke out in front of us. It included a shotgun, sniper-riffle, and two Tommy guns. In minutes, there were darts stuck here and there. I was distracted from my sword swinging adventure as darts were flying here and there. It made me smile and smile. I wish I would have been armed, but sometimes it is nice to watch the show. I'm not really sure how things ended and if there was indeed a nerf champ of the night, but the little bit I saw, was just a taste of what I would like to be a part of. I will be coming back, maybe not just armed with a nerf gun, but armed with a nerf football as well(because you can forget about all other good things nerf). Touchdown! College kids are fun! Bethel is fun! Food is fun!

24 is still not too old to relive the pass times from being a kid.

Nerf = Fun toy for all ages.

The End.

Christian Music: The Soundtrack of The N64

With consoles today, if you don't like a certain sountrack in a game, you have an option of loading your own music onto the system and then using the tracks in the game of your choice. It doesn't work with all games, but its a really good option for the games that do support it.

Back in the late 90's, if you didn't like a soundtrack in a game, your only option was to turn the volume down on the TV and pop a CD in the player and press play as you boot up the game. If you wanted to keep the game sound effects, you could go to the game menu and turn the music down. This makes for a more authentic feel. My brother and I always seem to do this while playing the Nintendo 64. I'm not saying that any soundtrack or music from games like Mario or Zelda were bad, but it was just kind of fun to play to the tunes of Ghoti Hook or Five Iron Frenzy.

Today when I listen to some of the Christian music from the late 90's(the best of Christian music was from that era) I can't help but think about some of these N64 titles.

Here are some examples of games and music we played to.

Five Iron Frenzy

Starflyer 59 (especially in the Water Temple. Probably because that's where I spent most of my time...frustrated!)

Quoth the Raven, "Barrymore"

As stated before, I watched the movie, Fever Pitch, but this wasn't the only Drew Barrymore movie I've watched in the past 24 hours or so.

The others include:

-Never Been Kissed
-The Wedding Singer
-50 First Dates

Another form of Drew came during some commercials for some products of some sort. Thoughts also came to mine such as, "It's been awhile since I've watched the movie E.T." which also stars a young Drew Barrymore. I think that should be the next movie.

Hmm, I think to myself, "Why do even post on this sort of stuff?" Well, the truth is, nobody actually reads this, so I guess this is more of a personal thing for my to write or type upon. But for those who do read this, it's still my blog. Chunk Thoughts. I'm thirsty.

Oh and another thing...I don't know really. I've gotta wait and think about it, if you know what I mean. Ok, done.

The Cubs Lose...but

Wu-hu for Fuku.

Kosuke Fukudome had a very good day. I look forward to watching him this season. Big Z also had a good game, but it all wasn't good enough. It's not fun to watch game like this and see the Cubs lose, especially a season opener at Wrigley, but I still have faith in the Cubs. This can be their year! Go Cubs! Go get'em on Wednesday!

%*#-UDOME!!!

Ties the game in the 9th with a 3-run shot!

3-3

GO CUBS!!! WIN!!!

...

and they are gonna lose.

Go Cubs Go

Baseball seasons underway.
Well you better get ready for a brand new day.
Hey Chicago what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today!

He we go! Rain go away! Baseball season is here!

Next year is now!

Fever Pitch

So for the past few years I've had this tradition of watching the movie Fever Pitch around the opening of baseball season. It's just a little something to get me excited about baseball. Yeah, I know that there is more to this movie than baseball and that there are probably plenty more baseball baseball movies to watch, but yeah, I'll still go with this one.

Heres why...

  • This movie dealt with a Boston Red Sox fan through the 2004 season. You can feel the love and frustration of someone who has a big love for the team that hasn't won the World Series for like ever. These Red Sox fans are very similar to Chicago Cubs fans. The wait has been too long, but fortunately for the Sox fans, they've won 2 of the last 4. The Cubs on the other hand...yep. So in a lot of ways, I can relate to the fans in this movie, during that time.

  • Saying all that, I am actually a fan of the Red Sox and maybe all teams Boston(do I even dare to mention that I own a Tom Brady jersey? Hmm..that's a different story) So its kind of fun to just watch the movie and stuff and get that tingly feeling when the Red Sox win the World Series and you hear the The Dropkick Murphys song, Tessie.

  • I like romantic comedies? Yeah, I can say that. It's fun. Although I can't really say that I'm the biggest fan of Mr. "I will laugh and ruin your sketch" Fallon, but for this movie, I believe him and Drew Barrymore are really good for their rolls. It's nice and It's lovely. I really like this movie. To see a man who is blinded by the love for his team and baseball, to see or even feel the same way for the girl and then to finally realize that the Red Sox are nothing, compared to the love of your girl friend, is just awesome. To watch as he would rather sell his season tickets, in order to not lose the love of his life and to see her run across the outfeild of Fenway(although not really reaslistic) to stop him, is just awesome.

In a way, I think that kind of relates to us Christ Followers. We are too distracted by stuff such as entertainment, relationships, work, sports, and sin, to develop a more intimate relationship with God. I think we need to ask ourselves, "What is that love in my life that stands before God?" and just sit down and sign it over to Him or something. Sin should be thrown out, but as far as the other stuff that isn't "bad", just lift it to Christ and he'll give you a "World Series" in your life.

So what more can I say...not much really. I'm ready for baseball. I'm ready for the Cubs and I'm ready for the Red Sox. I think I am just becoming more of a fan of all baseball. It used to be that I'll watch all the Cubs games that I could, on either WGN or Comcast and watch who ever was playing on Saturday Fox baseball or Sunday Nights on ESPN. Now I kind of wish I had MLB TV or something, because I kind of want to watch more games and stuff. It's fun. Don't get me wrong, the Cubs are still my team, but I just wanna watch more games and teams and players. I've gained a lot of respect for other teams and players. I can't say that I hate any teams, but I can't say I like all teams. I can say, "I LIKE BASEBALL!"

so bye bye beautiful

The Worst

When I was seven, my mother hired a pony and a cart to come to my house for all the kids. And I got a really bad rash, from the pony. And all the kids got to ride the pony. And I had to go inside. And my mother was rubbing cream on me for probably three hours. And I never came outside. And by the time I got out, the pony was already in the truck and around the corner. So that was my worst birthday.

24

So my birthday is Monday.
I'm gonna be 24.
It's the 24th of March.
March is the third month of the year(3). The year is 2008,('08).
3 x 8 = 24.

So...
Age - 24
Day of the Month - 24
Month x Year = 24.

Weird.

So is that like a sign that i should start watching the show 24 or something? Probably not.

There is this bracket and I think my brother messed it up.

The Empire Strikes Back AGAIN!

Ok, so thanks so there were 9 votes and 2 were mine. So thinks to the 7 people who came to visit my site. If you are readers, then I'm happy to have some. I had the goal of having 3, so I know I have 7 or at least had 7 readers. Thank you. Special thanks to the ones that actually voted for The Empire Strikes Back. Though I would have been better to see a lot more votes. I mean, seriously, I think A New Hope is the second best, for it was the very first one.

Maybe next time I'll do the Indiana Jones poll.

Summers of Slacking

To go along with the last post, I think I've been slacking off with my visits to Cedar Point for the last few years.

Look at the number of times I've been to Cedar Point during that summer.

2005 - 4
2006 - 3
2007 - 2

Yes, I know that's probably about everyone's average, but it just doesn't compare to...

2003 - 90+
2004 - 100+

I'm sorry Cedar Point, but it's hard when you aren't in my back yard anymore.

Who's Ready for Cedar Point?

Oh the days when the Park was the "Amazement" Park.
Now, it is just the "Boring" Park... OK, it's not. Oh how I wait for May.

I'm Tired and I'm Ready

I'm tired of Satan messing up my life.
I'm tired of sin messing up my life.
I'm tired of my frustrations messing up my life.
I'm tired of my attitude towards myself and others, messing up my life.
I'm tired of my thoughts and my actions messing up my life.
I'm tired of the things I say, messing up my life.
I'm tired of my time management, messing up my life.
I'm tired of my pride, my anger, and my fears, messing up my life.
I'm tired of depression, messing up my life.
I'm tired of my laziness messing up my life.
I'm tired of....so on and so on and so on... messing up my life.
I'm tired of Satan messing up my life.

Satan, sit down! You had your turn.

God, it's Your turn. I'm ready for You to mess up my life. This is my prayer to You, for my life to be changed, to be thrown around, to be ruined, all for You.

Goal Accomplished

My mission is complete. I now have a bigger audience than there was for XFL.

Thank You.

Hmm...

Ok, so tomorrow is Friday. I had this goal to have three readers by tomorrow. I look at the poll to the right and I see three votes. Hmm, one must think, "well hey Chunk, look's like you have you're three." Well, truth be told, one of those votes is mine, so that leaves two readers. So yeah, I know who these readers are, Carter and Austin.

I need advertisment or something. I'll see what I can do.

I am a loser and I have no friends.

Mario, Sonic, and Pikachu.. OH MY!

Probably one of the most anticipated games of the year for the Nintendo Wii or for any system for that matter and in five days, it will be here! I've stated before, that if you own a Wii, you should own Super Mario Galaxy. Well, I now say, if you own a Wii, you should also own Super Smash Bros Brawl. So when Sunday comes around, get up to Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, or any other place that sells games and buy this game. Then come home plug it in and enjoy.

If you wanna know more about this game, click HERE.
If you wanna read a well written review about the game, click HERE.

A few minutes ago, In a Poll, not so far away...

So I've doing some blog surfing and I've noticed that a lot of people do these polls, so I decided that it would be great for me to have one as well.

So what better way for a first poll to be, then to have it be about one of the greatest debates in history. I'm talking about, Star Wars. I mean, which of the "original" Star Wars is the greatest?

So let me give you my opinion. The Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars ever. I'm not saying that I don't like the other two, I do. The "original" Star Wars Trilogy are probably some of my favorite movies, ever, but The Empire Strikes Back is the best of the three. Lets just get to the reasons why...

  • The Battle of Hoth - Probably one of the greastest on screen battles. I mean, you've got the big walkers and lasers and blasting and Darth Vader arrives. Luke Skywalker takes down one of the AT-AT walkers with his light saber and a blaster, while the others use tow-cables. What makes it better is, it all takes place on ice and snow. YES!!! Pretty sweet stuff!

  • The First of Appearance of Yoda - Yoda is so awesome and when you first watch this movie and you first see him, you are probably like "what? he's the greatest Jedi Master? He's just a little guy." Luke crashes ship into swamp and just can't seem to get it out with the force. Little Yoda, closes his eyes and lifts it up and sets it out of the swamp. AWESOME!!!

"A Jedi's strength flows through the force, but beware of the Dark Side."

  • Han Solo and Princess Leia or should I say "Hleia" - It is in this episode where their love for each other begins to blossom. Arguements, kissing, yelling, and blasting, the perfect couple. lets not forget these lines...

Princess Leia: Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy looking nerf-herder!
    Han Solo: Who's scruffy looking?

    Leia: I love you.
    Han: I know.

  • Boba Fett and Carbonite - Boba Fett is another one of those awesome charactors. He is so determined to get what he wants and what he wants is Han Solo. So he works with the Empire and they plan this trap at Cloud City. Fett wants Solo alive. Vader says they should test him in the frozen carbonite(which is originally planned for Skywalker). Han and Leia exchange words, like the lines from above. Han is then frozen in carbonite. It is AWESOME!!! Plus Boba's ship is probably the best of all the enemies.

  • Like Father, Like Son - Most importantly, we learn that Darth Vader is Luke's father. I don't care what anybody says, but to me, that is the biggest surprise ending in a movie, ever! Nobody saw it coming.

Darth Vader: Obi Wan never told you about your father.
Luke Skywalker: He told me enough. He told me you killed
Vader: No, I am your father.

It's just so awesome to me! Vader cuts off Luke's arm. He wants Luke to join the DarkSide and rule the galaxy together as father and son. Hmm...sounds like a good business to me. AWESOME!!!
    AWESOME!!!
    AWESOME!!!

So yeah, there you have it, reasons why The Empire Strikes Back is the best movie in the trilogy and one of the greatest movies ever. So yeah, there is so much more I could say about this movie, such as the introduction of Lando, the asteroid field, "I thought they smelled bad on the outside.", the giant worm, can't believe that I forgot this, but the Emperor, and so much more.
The Empire Strikes Back = Star Wars Gold! Enough Said.

Now go vote, you must!

Bye Bye Beautiful

Thoughts on...

  1. On Fire Rallies -
I will probably share more about my thoughts on the rallies as the week goes on. Let me just share this, Caleb Bizlow is one awesome guy! He shared about being an Unusual Soldier and just going to the extreme for Christ. It was a really good message to start the On Fire Rallies. He left us with a challange to just step up and live the life of an unusual soldier, following Christ, no matter what the cost.

Lets not forget about Yemi as well. It's really nice to have him back leading worship. He is another awesome Christ Follower with the passion he has for music and worshiping Christ.

I'm excited for the next 3 nights and excited to see where God leads us, using Caleb and Yemi. Hmm... looks like I shared more than I planned, but oh well, it needs to be said.

  2. Blogging -
Well, it looks like I'm coming back. I just need some readers. I'll have this thing looking like ChunkManYeah in no time.(for anyone who remembers the xanga days) I'll try my best to be creative, though I should let you know, that what I do post, isn't really up to college level. So try not to make fun of me.

  3. Work-
For those of you who don't know, I work third shift (10PM - 6AM) and for the most part it's okay. Nothing against the job, but I do find myself wrestling with unhealthy sleeping patterns. Some days I'm not getting enough sleep, while other days I'm getting way too much sleep. I guess that's just the way it goes. I've been working this way since September and I still haven't gotten used to it.
Do I wanna go back to days? Well if working nights contributes to me having an unhealthy life, then yes. There are other up's and down's, but I guess you will just have to ask me in person.

  4. Nintendo-
Hmm... I don't know why I added this to my thoughts, but I guess I enjoy playing with my Wii(I'm talking about the game system, you dirty mind, "that's what she siad", freaks!) Super Mario Galaxy is probably the best game out there! If you own a Wii(chances are you don't, because they are still hard to get a hold of) and you don't own Super Mario Galaxy, then you need to go out and buy it. Don't own the Wii, unless you have Mario!

Lets see, I guess I love the Nintendo DS too. I highly recommend picking one up, especially if you still own the original Game Boy(though, nothing is wrong with that)and have never upgraded to a Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance. If you own a DS or plan on purchasing one, then you should probably buy Mario Kart DS. It's probably the best Mario Kart of the series of Mario Karts. The Nintendo DS is great for road trips, passing time in the car, even if you are driving... haha, just kidding. NEVER PLAY DS WHILE DRIVING, SLEEPING, TAKING A SHOWER, OR DURING A CHURCH SERVICE(Unless Pastor Don is preaching... haha... just kidding, again)

OK, I'm done with that. You don't need to know more about my thoughts on Nintendo.

So yeah, there are some thoughts and stuff. I have to go to work in a few minutes. I hope you all have a fun time sleeping tonight. I'll be sure to have a fun time sleeping when you have to wake up! So yeah...blah...take that! Ok then...readers? Am I up to three yet? Feedback.

Thank you Adam. I shall resume to my blogging duties sometime in the next few days. I need to brainstorm on a few things and then just go at it. I'll try not to be boring, but probably will. Hmm... I'll think of something, but as of now, I've gotta go get something to eat.

Where Do I stand?

Where do I stand with "blogging"?

Hmm... Well think about this...
Where do I stand with...

  • Country Music?
  • the Indianapolis Colts?
  • the show 24?
  • Indian food?
  • Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper?
  • Chicago White Sox?
  • James Blunt?
  • Six Flags?

Probably not as close as...

  • rock, classic rock, worship and such
  • the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots
  • The Office
  • Wendy's and authentic Mexican
  • Regular Dr. Pepper
  • Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox
  • anything not James Blunt
  • Cedar Point

So yeah to repeat the question, "Where do I stand with blogging?"

Not as close as I once was...but I'm not saying that I won't step back.
